More..
It was still stuck at "Installing ESV..." a couple of hours later.
So I ended it with Ctrl-C, Y
Then deleted Sword & JSword
Then started the install again, ... and it installed perfectly!
- except it gave an Internal Error when I tried to register.
The common factor with both machines was that the first time it got stuck.
Then, when I deleted the folders and started again, it went OK.
I've attached the command window after the H00 warnings
Strange!

but I checked the Path statement, and it wasn't listed. It may
have had its own environment statement - I didn't look properly.
The laptop where it is now stuck at KJV has a Java JDK in the path as
well as JAVA_HOME and JDK environment statements
Hmm
I closed down Chrome (the default browser which showed KJV installing
forever, and then opened it again.
It oped the previously open tabs, including http://localhost:8989/step-web/
This is now showing:
This is the first time you have run the STEP software. Please be
patient while it installs.
Please note these actions do NOT require any access to the Internet.
* 11:49:42 Starting installation...
* 11:49:43 Making the KJV searchable
* 11:49:43 Installing the ESV from the STEP application
folder........................................................................................................
So it appears to have jumped over the KJV step (or it was complete)
The command window is now showing the multitude of

OK my silly mistake.
I hadn't got rid of JSword before installing.
Now it progressed further:

It stopped some time on this last bit, and then I realised I should
be watching the browser.
Yey - everything installed and worked fine!
Ah - untill I came to register
I *think* the "internal error" message appeared when I clicked on "Resgister".
I'll have another go tomorrow. Enid is pulling the bed-cover over her
head beside me.
