Patrick,
Because "General Editor" is really a part of the signature, couldn't
Closing_example.gif be simply
<signed>Kenneth L. Baker</signed><signed>General Editor</signed>
or
<signed>
<list>
<item>Kenneth L. Baker</item>
<item>General Editor</item>
</list>
</signed>
I don't see a closer in either example (at least from what can be
deduced from the formatting).
