I don't read German, so I don't know any more of the content than I can
imply from Martin's response, but I have an idea.

In the US, I have been told that politicians pay more attention to letters
than they do e-mail when it comes to making decisions.  I think that it is
reasonable to expect similar findings from corporate perspectives.

It is also easier to prove that messages are being sent from different
physical locations by checking postmarks etc.  Therefore, it may be
beneficial to ask our users that want specific translations to write to the
companies involved rather than e-mailing.

We could even provide them with a message to print and sign, and forward to
the particular companies.  In this way we could target the messages
according to what the company's stance has been.  For example, if a
publisher is leaning toward saying yes, we could have an e-mail encouraging
them in that direction, if they have said "Absolutely not!", we could have
a letter indicating disappointment in their poor decision.
