SMTP hasn't been supported on crosswire for quite some time due to the 
fact that we have been on an email blacklist since the server move.  I 
am surprised to hear anyone was using mail.crosswire.org as an smtp 
server.  I have reinstalled the software and startls smtp access should 
be enabled again.
