I have it as well; many thousands of people do. It's unclear how far one
could let one's personal copies ... migrate.
I understand that ESV's copyright owner decided they were changing how
they wished to have it distributed. Way back when (2011), ESV was the
new kid on the block and needed audience and users when Sword got
permission to distribute. Now ESV is settled and stable and widely used,
so they don't need us any more. This change kinda sorta coincided with
their ESV-specific apps on smartphones and tablets. I note that they
didn't stop BibleGateway or other websites from distributing it.
NASB was first made available to be developoed into a Sword module in
Jan 2004. It took ~15 years before it was "ready" and that happened
immediately after ESV permission to distribute was withdrawn.
I'm far more fond of NET and BSB, which are the most recent
comprehensive translations, and readily available. But my parallel
choices in Xiphos include NET, BSB, ESV, NASB, and some others.
