As Fred observed, there exists xiphos-devel. It does not see a lot of
activity.

Yes, we are (meaning /I am/) long delayed in getting a new release out.
A good bit of development activity has occurred in the last 6 or 8
months, but I am due to finish conditionalizing inclusion of the editor
for e.g. Debian/Ubuntu platforms that lack gtkhtml and verifying that
the Windows build is sane. I was hoping to get a release out by
Christmas, but a hurricane (I'm in south Florida), illness, an injury
requiring surgery that semi-disabled my left arm for a while, a death in
the family, and more illness over Christmas put a serious dent in my
ability and willingness to pursue the details.

If you've built Xiphos yourself from the git repo, you already have most
of what's intended for a new release.

So... Yes, a release is due "soon." Huge apologies and regrets for being
slow.
