[xiphos-devel] vietnamese translation seems not to work

We have a recent addition of a Vietnamese translation. Unfortunately, 
though it appears appropriately in the "po" directory, and is mentioned 
in the right places (i.e. po/LINGUAS), and the resulting 
/usr/share/locale/vi/LC_MESSAGES/xiphos.mo is properly in place, it 
seems not to have any effect after changing from system default locale 
to Vietnamese locale (and restarting, of course).

Can anyone offer an idea for why this one translation doesn't take effect?
