[sword-devel] GlobalOptionFilter=UTF8GreekAccents and non-Greek modules

The one thing that the Module Team did that should not be done was to use the
filter UTF8GreekAccents to detect change and mistakenly conclude that a
module being prepared for release contained Greek.

This is a simple thing to stop doing, now that we understand in part why the
logic is flawed.

Nevertheless, this filter makes changes beyond simply removing Greek
accents.

Can someone please explain why it removes the codepoint U+2019 from our
Greek modules?
The right single quotation mark is NOT a diacritic. It's not a valid Greek
accent.

I could understand that the source text for some of our Greek modules might
mistakenly have used it in place of U+1FBF GREEK PSILI that looks somewhat
similar, but that's not a valid reason for stripping out a quotation mark.
If there are any such errors in our modules, the proper action would be to
rebuild the module.

For detailed background, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_diacritics

Best regards,

David
