[sword-devel] File sharing website

My aim would be to hold only to Public Domain works, and only accept
copyrighted works that have been licensed. (Therefore, copyrighted works
would be quite scarce) Anything that is not public domain would have to be
reviewed prior to publishing.
I think it would be a good place to make and refine modules, with testing
and feedback going on, prior to the modules being submitted to Crosswire
for repository additions.
For English, most Bibles are already in SWORD format, so that probably
wouldn't be the main bulk of content. Rather dictionaries, references,
commentaries, books, and maps/atlases would be more of a focus. (I've
started to put together an open-source mapping collaboration as well, to
eventually be put into SWORD format- this could be developed there as well)
By the way, to you who want to dispute whether copyrights are right,
remember that is not the purpose of this topic. The website I'm proposing
will walk in agreement with and with honor toward copyright holders,
regardless of someone's convictions (or lack thereof) relating to
copyrighting issues.
Blessings in Christ,
Matt
