But I could add a feature to any UI, so as to track such a "references
only" module's content as an on-the-fly add-on in parallel with the
Bible currently in use, and add such references to the current Bible's
display.

That would be kind of cool.  The limitation would be that the refs would
have to be by verse, whereas most Bibles with xrefs mark individual words.
