Troy's suggestion to pass the same instance of SWMgr and use this 
instead of a new SWMgr will be easier ....  if we can figure out how to 
do it!  I'm just struggling with the 'how' at the moment.  I hadn't 
realised how little I knew about scoping and passing variables around.  
I'm going to persevere with that one!
