GnomeSword had a feature request for integrating Bibledit with GS using
Bibledit's API that it already uses with BibleTime.  Unfortunately, each
time that I tried to try to work with Bibledit (and BibleTime), it
simply collapsed on me repeatedly.  I tried several times over some
months.  I know I wasn't alone, because there was chatter along such
lines in Freenode #sword a month or so ago, as another person tried to
put it to use and it died on him, too.  I closed the feature request
around that time, offering to look again the future.

If it has improved lately, I could try it out again.  I have nothing
against it, but I just couldn't get it to work with my world at all.
