The Sword engine (API) does not need Cygwin as it makes no 
Windows calls.  All the commandline utilities will compile and link OK 
and work with Windows using GNU-C.

There isn't a front end that is written with Cygwin support in mind, 
however, you can play with Cheatah, which works ok under Windows if 
linked with GTK for Windows (GTK4Win or DevEX), and should also 
work under CygWin, although Cygwin isn't actually needed.
