Hello,

To avoid any copyright issues, I was going to play with using satillite data and a 3D terrain generation program for generating the maps. Although the data for the middle east and europe isn't as detailed as it is for north america, it's useable. I've done this before with portions of europe for maps for a game.

I can use the program to create a bitmap from an overhead view like any normal map.

Adding details like roads and cities to the bitmap is fairly easy.

It may take a few days to dig up the correct data, but I'll get to working on the first map.

Sam
