I got this reply from Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft concerning my two questions 
(encryption / modulte texts for Windows as well)

Here I say the SWORD modules are usable under Windows as well. 
I hope this is no problem.

Doch! Das ist ein Problem. Für den Windows-Bereich sind wir mit eigenen
Produkten am Markt. Diese sind so leistungsfähig und benutzerfreundlich, dass es
aus unserer Sicht daneben keinen echten Bedarf für weitere Programme gibt. Eine
Produktdiversifikation muss gut überdacht werden. Außer den reinen Kosten
spielen auch Beratungsaufwand und Transparenz eine Rolle.
Die Frage ist also, ob bei SWORD die Daten für Windows und UNIX dieselben sind,
und ob es Möglichkeiten gibt, die Daten nur einem der Betriebssysteme
zuzuordnen?
Texte für ein Windows-Programm anzubieten ist daher für uns nochmals ein neuer
Schritt, den wir ausführlich überelgen müsste, und der vor allem auch
Implikationen haben wird und muss, was den Preis der bereitgestellten Texte
betrifft.

Yes! This is a problem. For the Windows-sector we have own products on the market. 
They are so powerful and bulletproofed that from our view there is no real need for more
programs. Such a step must be thought of very well. Next to the pure costs there are costs
for consulting and transparency. The question is, whether the sources are the same for
Windows and Unix and if there are possibilities to use the data only with one of the
operating systems?
To offer texts for a Windows-Program is because of the mentioned points another step
for us, which we need to think about very carefully, which also had implications on
the price of the offered texts.

This is the current status. I need your help here what to say.
Do we agree on making texts only available for Unix or do we say we want to 
support both systems? I don't really know where to go from here, I'm also a
bit biased since I use Linux and many others would probably be disappointed
if they could not use texts on Windows.

I though would argue that we need one publisher who gives SWORD-copies of their
texts and if it would only be for Unix. We then had a better stand to get others to join
us if they see they're not the first.

However, this is my point, please help me folks!
