This may sound simplistic, and perhaps exposing my ignorance of the
markup issue here, but why not simply ignore "selah" and let the encoder
decide what to do with it? It's a span of text that some want the
information value (they think it is a text disjunctive or something),
others just want to capture it for formatting. The encoder already has a
rich toolbox in OSIS core to accomplish any of those tasks.
