Sure, declare xlinks in an associate document that carry the attributes 
you want to associate with words and then embed the text from the OSIS 
file. Easy with extended XLink, less easy with current broken 
implementations.  With an XLink enabled browser, document appears as 
though the information was embedded in the file, although it resides in 
separate documents.
