[jsword-devel] jsword in linux

I'm running Linux with the blackdown j2sdk (1.4.1_01 gcc 3.2)
Initially when I launch jsword via the shell script I got errors telling
me it couldn't find something in the C drive - which makes sense if
that's where it is looking ;)
I'm not a java person (personally I don't like the look of Java on Linux
- no decent AA font rendering etc. - but gnomesword isn't ported to
gnome2 yet and I don't have/want the gnome 1.4 libs) but grep was my
friend, and I found the C path hard coded in some *.properties file.
Changes those to /usr/share/sword - and it worked (as long as I don't
click the button complaining about the look and feel).
Anyway - looking at the web page for jsword, it says testing is done on
both Windows and Linux.
I'm curious as to why then it didn't work out of tarball on my linux box
- and instead seems to use Windows setting for stuff.
Is there any info about my java environment that you guys might need to
help track it down?
I'm guessing it would be something very simple to fix.
