Joe,
I use the GUI CVS built into NetBeans. I rarely use the command line.
So, I'm not too sure what you're running into. www.cvshome.org has a
faq, software and other information that you might find useful.
If you're using Linux, the newest version of KDE's file manager has a
CVS client builti-in, Cervisia.
Sorry I can't be much more help. If you'd like to add me to the
project, I'll add some files and let you know what set of commands my UI
used. It generates a log.
