At work, I develop a large enterprise application that uses c++ and Qt
on 32/64 bit on Windows and linux. We have done various performance
comparisons in the past. Generally the 64 bit Windows program is about
20% larger than the 32 bit version of the same program. Other than that,
they perform about the same. The only difference is that the 32 bit
program can't have a process size greater than approximately 3GB. This
would not be an issue for BibleTime. We have never seen that Windows
8.0 is any exception to this. So, if anything the 32bit uses a little
less disk/ram due to the smaller program size.
Also, my wife regularly uses BibleTime on her Windows 8.0 computer. It
seems to run just fine there.

me at least I haven't done any actual comparisons of the same app in
both, but I can if needed) to use more resources than their 64bit
counterparts. Pre Win8.1 some 32bit apps would barely if at all run due
to resource usage.
