I run BibleTime 1.6 on a Kubuntu 6.10 (KDE 3.5.5) system, but can't get out of full screen mode, not via the icon, not via the menu and not via the keyboard shortcut.

Can you please provide more information about how to reproduce this?
Please also try to set another key binding (hotkey) for fullscreen mode in
the configuration dialog to see if it would work.
