[server-admins] Atlassian Jira

Jira was last updated in 2018 to version 7.7.1. We are using Jira standalone server edition. Atlassian no longer supports the server edition. But rather their cloud edition.

I went to update the license so I could install the latest server version (9.12.x) and it apparently is no longer possible. The upgrade path would have been to 8.x and then to 9.12.x. They still support Open Source and we would qualify for a new license but it’d be in the Atlassian cloud.

So the big question is where do we go from here? Atlassian Cloud? Some other product? Work with Atlassian to migrate from 7, to 8, to 9, to 10, ….

Oh, and Jira is down again. And I restarted it yet again.
