I'd say go with CentOS, for an RPM-based server OS for which you don't
want paid support from Red Hat. I'm not sure what the value of using
RHEL in some sort of lower priced non-profit variant would be, if you
don't want to use RH support (which would, presumably, cost some
additional real money every year) -- so you might as well use CentOS.
As Peter says, if you are willing to deal with .deb packaging, Debian
stable is a good way to go for long running reliable servers. But if
that's not going to be comfortable for you, try CentOS.
