PocketSword 1.1 on the App Store
PocketSword 1.1 on the App Store
Wednesday, 3 February 2010
Hi, you may remember me from such blog posts as those from last year. Or as the guy who does most of the dev work on PocketSword.
Don’t worry, I’m still here. I’ve realised that I generally post updates of what’s happening in the PocketSword world on Twitter, rather than write blog posts about them. So if you want to keep up-to-date with what’s happening, take a look over there.
But it’s time for an important news announcement! PocketSword v1.1.0 has just been approved for sale, meaning it should start to appear in an App Store near you within the next 24 hours. :D
And here’s a quick list of what’s new in this (fairly big) update:
- Search added
- History items added (both for Bible browsing and for commentaries)
- Basic Dictionary support (lookup for Strong's numbers will be added in the next version!)
- Improved Bible and Commentary tabs UI (removed the Modules tab and you can now access your Bible modules from the Bible tab, Commentary modules from the Commentary tab, etc).
- Speed-up of app launch time
- Updated the SWORD library to v1.6.1
- i18n work completed, more localisations are now being worked on.
- French & Swedish added in this release.
- Alternative versification of Bibles groundwork completed (for example, Bibles with the Apocrypha can now be installed).
- Other minor bug fixes, improvements and speed ups.
oh, and cut and paste. :)
That’s all. I hope you love version 1.1 as much as I am happy with it! As usual, send any questions & queries to me via the “email me” button, below, or jump on to the user forums and post away there!
