Second Edition content, though the module version reflects
eBible's module generation habits and currently calls itself
35.24. The content is basically OK, but be aware that it has a few
problems.<br>

- It has Strong's numbers, but the markup is bad now and then. It
looks like all OT refs to "LORD" are broken. For example,
Jeremiah.8.4 renders poorly:<br>

Somebody's convert-to-OSIS script has a bug.<br>

- Its configuration file claims it has footnotes, but no footnotes
are actually present. To me, the singular, defining, top-tier
feature of NET is the footnotes because they provide a running
commentary from the translators' minds about how and why they
chose their manner of translation. These include text critical
notes, translators' notes, and study notes, plus map references,
and collectively they're a vast repository of understanding for
how this translation came about.<br>

Errrr... actually, I'm partly wrong about there being no
footnotes. Some extra analysis just showed me that there are 30
verses in the whole module that have footnotes. Half of them are
in Isaiah 43, and the rest are "[[EMPTY]]" references for the 16
NT verses no longer found in any modern translation because
textual criticism has determined that they were never found in the
original autographs, being mostly assimilations to related verses
elsewhere, esp. in gospels e.g. Matt.17.21 → Mark.9.29.<br>

Isaiah 43:13-15,17-19,21-24,26-28; Matthew 17:21; 18:11; 23:14;
Mark 7:16; 9:44,46; 11:26; 15:28; Luke 17:36; 23:17; John 5:4;

- Every single chapter contains some blank introductory material.
Now, each book's chap.1 has at least the book title as intro
material, but I find it odd that every chapter shows this, which I
see because I play some CSS games in
~/.config/xiphos/default-style.css just for the purpose of visibly
exploiting some of the weirder markup I see in modules.<br>
<br>
I would describe this module as acceptable for routine reading,
but for serious study -- to have the good features -- you will do
much better if you get the First Ed. modules from the <a href="http://bible.org" target="_blank">bible.org</a>
standard repo.<br>

That being the case, folks might as well know that the key for
both original NET First Ed. modules, NET + NETnotes, is
"8064xdok7473VGUe".<br>
Given Second Ed.'s existence, with a free, key-less Second Ed.
module being distributed, it seems sure they no longer care about
First Ed. as evidenced by their willingness to give the key away.
And that's fine.</font>
