[xiphos-devel] long outstanding PRs

There are 2 that I'd forgotten about, many months old. Apologies. What
is the state of these? Shall we consider them still applicable?

The latter's comments indicate a problem with Travis interaction. I'm
assuming that this is long resolved, whatever it was.

Is the latter a superset of the former?
Well, no, the 2nd is only 12 files, the 1st is 24.
Fill me in on context and we'll either merge or discard.

I have no problem moving to GTK_CHECK_VERSION, since it's the standard
method.
