[wxsword-devel] wxSword possibility

Greg,

While I was sitting around doing some reading on the history of Australia
and the sheep industry down here in Oz, a great idea struck me concerning
the compilation of wxSword: have you at all considered or attempted anything
based off of bcc? I have no experience with Borland products other than
using the basic Borland C++ 5.01 back in high school. However, I know that
BibleCS is build with Borland Builder 5/6 (and, therefore, Sword presumably
already builds with some Borland products). I also know that wxWidgets has
support for building with bcc in its build/msw directory. wxMozilla also
comes with a makefile.bcc, thus indicating to me that they claim to have
some sort of support for Borland's products. I believe that the bcc that is
being indicated is a free-as-in-beer product, and if wxWidgets and wxMozilla
both build with it, and presumable causing Sword to build with it should not
be a monumental task - that would complete the library chain that is needed
to put together a wxSword build.

I would love to tackle that project, but I would need to find an Internet
Cafe around from which to download and set up bcc, because the
college/university campus I am currently on is not designed to support
downloads of anything more massive than a few megs, and I would guess that
setting up bcc would take more than just a few megs. I'll keep my eyes
peeled for a Cafe where I can take my laptop in, but if you're still
interested in a wxSword build on Windoze, that might a new lead in the
rat-chase. I'll look around for more info on bcc and see what might be out
there about it regarding Sword also. Thanks!
