the CrossWire Master Repository List still points to the
deprecated FTP repository for eBible.org instead of the
fully-supported HTTPS repository for eBible.org. The files and

in between commands, where HTTPS is more stateless. On my FTP
server, there can only be 10 connections open at once. On my HTTPS
server, all Sword project users can probably try to update at
once, and it would probably work.

Thank you for that fix. The eBible.org repository (both https
and ftp) should be working, now. If not, please let me know.

Since Friday, the 13th of February, uptime on eBible.org has
not been great for a combination of reasons. It should be much
more stable, now, and with faster response for https://eBible.org/sword/.
The FTP portion (on a different computer) is a little slower
than it was, and has more limits on numbers of connections. It
is much more fragile and vulnerable to DDOS attacks. FTP
connections to repositories should not be used in any new
Sword implementations, but I have been trying to keep it going
for the dinosaur software. Anyway, if you ever notice that the
eBible.org repository is down for more than 20 minutes, please
let me know.
