<div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">A few days ago, I had a crazy thought of the <u>lateral thinking</u> variety.</div><div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">What if the open source <span style="display: inline !important; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><b>Calibre</b> </span><span>e-Book management </span>software were enhanced to support SWORD <b>Gen-Book</b> module format for both import and export?</div><div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">This could enable SWORD users to use <b>Calibre</b> to convert any of the e-Books in their personal collection and read them with a suitable SWORD or JSword based front-end app.<br>
<br>It would also facilitate users to convert the few existing <b>Gen-Book</b> modules in our repositories and read them using their preferred e-Book reader.<br><br><b>Calibre</b> being open source means there's no proprietary software involved.</div><div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">All it would take is for some suitably skilled CrossWire software developer to put the effort into adding these capabilities and options to <b>Calibre</b>.<br><br>To learn more, please visit <span><a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer nofollow noopener" href="https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/blob/master/README.md">https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/blob/master/README.md</a></span><br>
