<p>So, I spent a few hours and wrote a tiny html/css/js player for
our current flashcards app. The UI is stupid simple and needs
aesthetic and function improvements. For now, I shamelessly stole
the sounds and colors from DuoLingo. Anyone who wants to make new
sounds to replace them, please submit .mp3 files for correct,
wrong, finished. I've had it get stuck mid-lesson occasionally
and I'm trying to figure out why.<br>

Our team is familiar with FreeHebrew/FreeGreek. I would say
it is a bit different than that. FreeHebrew is primarily a
video-based method. A Duolingo-styled method is one of
inductive learning and drilling. The idea would be to
support in-class learning with short non-biblical sentence
drilling. We are looking to develop something more
interactive.<br>

of them. They look fun. I believe they seminary team is
looking for an app which uses this style of teaching but
also coaches the student through their learning with

<blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0pt 0pt 1ex 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(114,159,207);padding-left:1ex"> Hey guys. I have a seminary who wants to teach ancient biblical
languages as living language, meaning they want to use audio and
conversational exercises as they teach their students, just like one
might teach any language actively used in the world today. Basically,
they'd like DuoLingo for Ancient Hebrew and Greek. I did a quick
search for "open source language learning frameworks" and couldn't
find anything which looks like it has much promise.
Do you guys have any recommendations? Barring that, do any of you have
any interest in either updating our flashcards app into a more capable
DuoLingo-like app (+audio, different ways to ask questions, multiple
options for correct answers, possibly more gamification), or simply
starting something new like this?
The seminary says they have a team happy to provide the content.
Thanks for any research on this and for considering offering ideas and
work,
Troy
