<div>Hi Tomas,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Brilliant, yes, that would be very good if you would get involved. I will sent later off-list a list of verses which did not fit - but bear in mind that the problem often lies earlier - e.g. a verse early in the chapter is split into two and then much further down a verse does not fit anymore or some such - The Pentateuch and the minor prophets are particularly notorious for many variations in verse and chapter allignment.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>So the first task is to get per Bible edition the book order - there are commonly variations in the NT, then per book the chapters and per chapter how many verses. Preferentially from a printed Bible . The second then is to check how the new scheme per Bible relates to neighbouring countries' Bibles and different Bibles from teh same country and see if there is a theme emerging (or several themes). Once the theme(s) is(are) established it needs to get crystallised into a table which would serve all/most well.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>As you see - none of the above is very complicated but it requires patience and is tedious.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Once the versification(s) are layed down we can format them in our own format.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>And then comes the final task - alligning things with the KJV - so that we can say (I am making these examples up) in the KJV Exodus 21:6 and the same words in whatever Danish or Swedish Bible even if it is in 21:8. We use then the KJV allignment to calculate across different versifications</div>

<div>Hi Peter,
<div> </div>
<div>Being a native Scandinavian I would like to help out if needed. I'm not very knowledgeable about versification, but I could have a look at various bibles in various languages to see if there is a pattern. Do you have a list of the verses that doesn't fit the current versifications?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Best regards,</div>

<br/>
I have published the Danish Bibles using NRSV versification as it seems<br/>
this has the least problems of all I tried - but there are at least 100<br/>
verses out of sync still in the OT. I am not too happy about that.<br/>
<br/>
I do not want to add for 3 texts a new versification, but it would be<br/>
good to keep an eye on this, I would presume that at least the other<br/>
Scandinavian translations might follow similar lines in terms of<br/>
versification and it might become useful to examine this matter in<br/>
detail - Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Danish etc.<br/>
<br/>
I have too little experience in this matter and would love to see<br/>
someone else who knows what they are doing have a look. Maybe I missed<br/>
something.<br/>
<br/>
