right now. Oops.<br>
For testing purposes, the repo under construction is:<br>
Repository name: eBible.org<br>
Access method: FTP<br>
Server and directory: eBible.org/pub/sword<br>
User name: anonymous<br>
Password: (blank, or fill in any email address. If you don't want
to use yours, use <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:sword@eBible.org">sword@eBible.org</a>.)<br>

This repository is slightly experimental right now, in that we
might change module names, and plan to adjust versification used
by modules to be more optimum before going fully live and public
with it, but I recommend that developers test to see if they can
handle the size of this thing, now and over the next few days. The
repository is growing rapidly. Within 24 hours, it should have all
Bibles at <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://eBible.org/Scriptures/">https://eBible.org/Scriptures/</a> as Sword modules, both in
regular and zipped versions, if all goes well.<br>
<br>
We are aiming for all 7,102 living languages (a number subject to
adjustment as language surveys are done), so hard coding a number
less than that limits the life of your code. Realistically, we
might not pass 3,000 for at least 2 years, but crossing 1,000
languages within a year could happen.<br>

<pre wrap="">We are currently in the midst of the work of conversion of a very large
collection of Bible texts and creation of a new repo.
The repo will have in excess of 600 Bibles.
Interestingly this triggers a bug in Xiphos, which had made the at one
time probably reasonable assumption that no repo will have more than
200 languages. This guestimate is used to allocate memory space for an
array containing the language info of a repo to create a tree menu in
the module manager. I fixed the bug for myself by adjusting the
assumption upwards. 1000 is probably a reasonable number nowadays. Not
sure if this fix will cause other problems, so I have not committed it
but passed on to Karl who will come to his own conclusions.
But if other frontends do the same and use a similar lowish number,
these frontends will be in trouble when the repo goes officially on
line.

Peter
