There is the option to install Bibledesktop, it can be run from anywhere. If there is no java engine installed then you could try installing protable BD which has its own java engine. It should work.<BR>

But I would probably just take an Ubuntu CD and install it on the laptop to gain full control again.<BR>

I'm trying to install a Crosswire front end to a Cebuano bible on a circa 2000 laptop with <A HREF="http://www.faronics.com/en/Products/DeepFreeze/DeepFreezeEducation.aspx">'deep freeze'</A> installed and locked up tight (apparently setup for remote management only.) Deep freeze resets the entire c:\ drive tree to its memorized state every boot, removing any newly installed programs. The tech that installed deep freeze is long moved away. <BR>

Is there a front end that is portable enough to install entirely below the directory D:\My Documents\ (including e-texts)? English menus are acceptable, but the primary bible text will be Cebuano and Tagalog.<BR>
