Thanks for the insight, since we always opened the bible at Gen 1:1 it

I'll make an educated guess and suggest that there is code which wants
to loop by verses through the content of the current chapter, then
expecting to get a predictable error back after hitting the next
chapter. If your code is autonormalizing verse refs, the error will
never occur and you will spin forever, trying to get past Rev 22:21.
(GS once had a similar bug in its detached parallel window.)
