As Greg said, all that has happened in a long time is a pile of offered 
security patches. The last functional change was at the 2.1.0 release in 
2020, which was to re-work the Linux default route discovery code 
because -- to my shock and horror -- the userspace implementation of 
route discoverability changed in then-recent kernels.

It hasn't had any functional improvements because, frankly, none have 
been needed. It does what it's supposed to do, per spec, and it does 
that rather well. It's just a small, neat implementation to provide a 
specific service.

If you have patches that could be neatly #ifdef'd into place for either 
Android or iOS, I'd be happy to integrate them.
