In my SWORD path on my Windows 7 PC, I have *symbolic links* to two
different sets of SWORD utilities.

*utils*     links to where I downloaded the latest Windows binaries supplied
by Greg H. (all dated 2013-10-09 in package called
*sword-utilities-1.7.0-1*)
*xiphos* links to my *Xiphos v4.0.5* installation (utilites dated
2017-04-24).

The stated *$Rev* for *mod2imp.exe* is the same for both copies, namely
*3431*.

For the *UrduGeoDeva* module, the *mod2imp* output to a text file made by
these "ostensibly the same" versions are different in exactly four
locations.

The differences are where the aforementioned spurious *Arabic letter Alef*
occurs and where the other three Left to Right directional codepoints are
found.

These four characters are absent in the utils\mod2imp output but present in
the xiphos\mod2imp output.

I wonder what changed in between those two compilation dates?

Focusing on the difference in *I Kings 16:31*, the actual words are:
utils:    इत्बआल
xiphos: इत्बاल

So it's not that the *U+0627 Arabic letter Alef* was caused by the
translators as I postulated earlier!
Rather xiphos\mod2imp gave that instead of आ *U+0932 Devanagari letter AA*.

This suggests there's a very subtle bug that's crept into the utilities
supplied with *Xiphos 4.0.5*.
Minor anomalies as these are, they warrant further investigation.

PS. The diff patch is appended below, as generated by WinMerge.
I'd be happy to send the two output files to anyone keen to look into this
further.

You may need a good Unicode text editor such as *BabelPad* to display the
differences.

Key: The left file was with utils, the right file with xiphos.
