[sword-devel] New repository - Implications for frontends

Ther are a bunch of ways of implementing this, and most will depend on the actual frontend and it susual way of interacting.

Personally, on a desktop I would think having a full list and a shortened, user selected list, might be a good way forward. David's suggestion makes certainly a lot of sense on a phone, maybe also on a desktop as a way of speeding up a more permanent filter.

I think for most people most languages we offer will be irrelevant - most will want to see Bibles in their language, possibly a state/national language, maybe Biblical languages, maybe other, neighbouring languages. If I was not involved in CrossWire, my list would be not bigger than 10- 15 languages - and that is probably a lot already.

Alternatives could involve having regional filters, national or even continental filters, but that is clumsy and likely will be faulty with people moving a lot around and many languages having many places they are spoken in.

But anything which keeps a list of 700+ languages easier to handle than a long scroll down, is probably a good thing.
