[sword-devel] OSIS is ready (97% sure)

Hi Peter,

Have you already used usfm2osis.py on the USFM files for the New Turkish
Bible?
I'd be most interested to see if all these issues have been solved.

If you scan Chris's script for OSIS extensions, no use is made of
*x-preverse*.
See
http://crosswire.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_eXtensions_to_OSIS_used_in_SWORD#eXtensions_generated_by_usfm2osis.py

I imagine therefore that titles placement is still something that needs
post-processing.
Likewise, fixing xrefs, for now at least, though this may be a future
enhancement, judging from his roadmap.

The abundance of OSIS eXtensions may have follow-up implications for
osis2mod - in that a good proportion of them are unlikely to be supported
yet.

This observation should be tempered by the fact that Chris's comprehensive
script covers all documented USFM tags, and many of these are very rarely
seen in real translation projects.

Best regards,

David
