FWIW I found epub an awful.format for bible for much the reasons Trefor gives. But AndBible can get installed on many ebook readers, including the nook.

Our friends Illya & Oksana Antonenko at  Osnova <http://osnova.com/>  
supply a number of Bibles & Bible study resources for the Kindle platform -
and most of the Bibles include a feature called *Direct Verse Jump*.

There are also some products made for the Nook and the Kobo.
