I just did a character frequency analysis using BabelPad.

The text still contains several (?numerous?) OCR errors. Here's an example
containing the ampersand.

Gen 022:013 Então levantou Abrahão o& seus olhos , e olhou ; e eis um
carneiro detraz d'elle , travado pelas suas pontas n'um matto ; e foi
Abrahão , e tomou o carneiro , e offereceu-o em holocausto , em logar de seu
filho . 

These would need to to be queried with Max Borges, the owner of the Google
site that hosts the download.

We can probably help him with the proof-reading, merely by providing the
evidence from such an analysis.
