The two *Armenian Bible* modules we have are both somewhat dated.
Western Armenian was spoken mostly by those living under Ottoman rule. Today
it's only spoken by some older members of the Amrmenian diaspora.
Eastern Armenian has changed significantly since the 19th century, so
although this was the language spoken within Armenia itself, the old
translation is no longer as comprehensible for today's generation.
The good news is that http://www.trinitarianbiblesociety.org/ Trinitarian
Bible Society has already published (in 2010) an up-to-date and more
accurate Armenian NT which has been well-received. Plus they are working
towards the publication of the complete Armenian Bible including the OT
during 2012.
TBS is working closely with http://www.armenianministries.org.uk/ Armenian
Ministries on this translation project.
The next issue of the *Quarterly Record* (QR597 for Oct-Dec 2011) will
include a detailed article on the Armenian Bible project. I've already seen
the text kindly provided as a preview.
I've established good personal contacts with TBS, and would ask you to pray
that this will eventually lead to several collaborative projects to support
their the electronic publishing of their translations.
