Peter, I actually joined this list because I was thinking of doing that
project, but I'm a total n00b and the time has not magically appeared, to
put it mildly, for me to delve very deeply into it.

Another project that would be very worthwhile and probably widely valued
would be the Catena Aurea, a commentary on the four Gospels from writings of
the church fathers. It was compiled by St. Thomas Aquinas and translated
under the direction of Blessed John Henry Newman and is also in the public
domain.

I say this mostly to point out that there is interest in such a project. If
I get the time to take one of them on, I'm sure I will pop back up to ask
advice at some point.
