The technical aspects and the overall direction:

In ~crosswire/html/pages are two new pages

crossnews.jsp - which provides the logic

and

news.jsp - which calls crossnews.jsp several times with different parameters

crossnews.jsp takes three different parametres
- percat (number of items per indvidual project)
- class (with 0 being core, 1 being modules and 2 being frontends)
- maxRes (overall number of results)

Both pages are in svn and available for reuse across the site. This is
particularly relevant for those of you who have their project site on
CrossWire's server

I will add to crossnews.jsp a call for an individual project later today
and in all likelihood a rss call too.

The final outcome will be that we can individualise news for projects
and subsites while having a unified structure.
