When you run Xiphos under your usual identity, your typical access
permissions apply, and the default install destination is a personal
area in your own directory space, with an option to store them in a
"system" space which users typically don't have permission to write
anyway. There is nothing inherent to Xiphos' installation which tries
to install modules in that latter space.

If you have modules installed elsehow, it's due to a packaging error by
someone else. This was a longstanding problem in Ubuntu with GnomeSword
2.2 (pre-name change, of course). We've been trying to squash that bug
for 2 years.

In Xiphos, on a per-module basis, the context (right-click) menu offers
Module Options -> Font.
