Troy,

Basic chats are pretty simple to throw together, especially if you're
still running Java and Tomcat on the server.  I've been pasting
together some various sites with the GWT (Google Web Toolkit) for a
few weeks now, and a very basic chat shouldn't be hard at all.  What
are your specific needs and desires?  Will the individual already be
logged into an account?  I can chat with you more about the specifics
of it and pull it together if you'd like.  It shouldn't be too hard to
integrate it with the current site, the GWT plays very nicely like
that.
