Dear Hariminoa Robijaona,
> I’VE DOWNLOADED THE SWORD PROJECT SOURCE CODE (sword-1.5.7a ).
1.5.7a is an older version of our source. I would suggest downloading
1.5.9, or better, use SVN trunk, which has a few bug fixes since 1.5.9.
You can find a good SVN client for Windows at:
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org
Then check out SWORD from the url:
https://www.crosswire.org/svn/sword/trunk/

> IN OUR LANGUAGE (MALAGASY LANGUAGE).
The current windows software is internationalized, allowing you to add a
Malagasy translation without changing code. If you would like to first
go this path, there are 2 items that need to be translated.
1) the SWORD engine locale file needs to be created for your language.
You can copy one of the others as an example. Here is the German locale:
https://www.crosswire.org/svn/sword/trunk/locales.d/de-utf8.conf
The [Book Abbrevs] is kindof an art. You'll need to leave the english
abbreviations, and delete all the german, replacing with your own logic.
Our wiki is down right now, pending a fix for the database connection
because of an upgrade of server software. It includes a good document
which will help you with this process. I hope we can get it back online
soon. There is a handy windows utility which will help you test your
locale while you work on it. It is located at:
http://www.crosswire.org/sword/ALPHAcckswwlkrfre22034820285912/alpha/LocaleHelper.zip
The second thing which needs translated is the Windows interface. An
example you can copy can be found here:
https://www.crosswire.org/svn/biblecs/trunk/stage/uilocales.d/fi.conf
If you would like to help improve the Windows application, you can
obtain it from SVN using the URL:
https://www.crosswire.org/svn/biblecs/trunk/
and you will also need:
https://www.crosswire.org/svn/icu-sword/trunk/
These (including sword above) three projects need to be checked out to
the same parent directory, and then you should be able to simply build
the entire program by using the BCB project file:
biblecs/swordprj.bpg
We support the free versions of Borland C++Builder 5 and 6
(biblecs/CBuilder6/swordprj.bpg) currently. We almost support the
newest version Borland's tools. Free version available at:
http://www.turboexplorer.com/
If you'd like to help us transition the remaining code to work with the
newer compiler, that would be blessing.
> I’VE ALREADY THIS BIBLE TEXT IN OUR
> LANGUAGE.
Have you created a SWORD module from your text yet?
> I’ M USING MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ 6.0, BUT I CAN ALSO GET BORLAND C++.
Our _engine_ and command line tools should compile fine with MS VC 6. I
believe we have project files which are up to date (might be missing a
few of the latest files added to the engine, but should be easy to see
what is missing and needs adding):
sword/lib/vcppmake/vc6/
But the current windows GUI frontend is Borland specific.
> WOULD YOU BE SO KIND AS TO ADVISE ME WHERE OR HOW CAN I FIND HELP AND
> INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLLOW ABOUT THE FILES I’VE TO USE AND TO
> COMPILE FROM THE SWORD PROJECT SOURCE CODE ?
Thank you for your willingness to serve together! I'm excited about
your project! Please let us know if you have any questions. Looking
forward to working together with you for our Lord.
