FYI, earlier today Terry found the bug.  It wasn't a GnomeSword
problem at all; it was a Sword lib problem in OSIS handling, and he
has already committed a fix to Sword SVN.  If you build Sword from
SVN, then "svn up" to -r2028 and you will have the fix.
