[sword-devel] new project proposal

 Thank you Troy!

One purpose of joining the Sword Project is also that there are many users.
And a good vocabulary can be built only with many users and much time.
We currently have a vocabulary with around 60.000 terms, but they are
modern Hebrew. We need hard work to target it to biblical Hebrew, and later
Aramaic. Some terms also need some review, and with database conversions
there are some noise characters we have to clean.

We uploaded a web demo for the dictionary,
http://biblic.sourceforge.net/biblic/main.php
There are some problems with sessions at Sourceforge, and the admin
interface, which requires login, can be scarcely used. I hope we can fix
this soon.

If somebody is interested in the project, we need some help to distribute
tasks. One person is dealing with wxHTML (wxWidgets) extensions in C++, so
that each word in the editor will point to an in-memory database with all
the possible translations.
I am personally at the conclusion of the study of the Hebrew grammar, and I
will extend the existing core engine to include verbs, conjugations, etc.,
which is in Perl, and two other programmers will aid.
We would like to find somebody who can take care of the HTML/PHP pages of
the project, so that we can stay focused on the core engine.
When there will be something usable, we would like to have a space in the
Sword Project. So people will be able to contribute words, test it, etc.

 Kindest regards,

 Fabrizio Lanza
