[sword-devel] sword (or diatheke) daemon?

I'm working on some webservices powered by sword and diatheke.  Right now I
basically have a script that just reads the output from diatheke and spits
it out in xml.

Performance, however, is not, well, optimal.  It has to start a new process
with each request.  I really need a daemon for this part.  Has anyone worked
on one, or have any advice on writing one?
