In BibleTime we have a class (backend/clanguagemgr*) which contains all the
information of the language stuff we use in BibleTime. E.g. the translated
names for an abbrev, other abbrevs for the same language etc.
Was a lot of work to convert the SIL language codes to this, so I'd suggest to
make use of it :)

Transliteration is done as a filter option with more than two option values. I
think in BT some of the transliteration stuff is in CSwrdBackend in
bibletime/backend/cswordbackend*.
At the moment ICU support is broken in Sword, so it doesn't work (at least in
BibleTime).

That's good to know. Our users asked to port BT to mac (which would be
possible now with the native KDE to Mac port). But since MacSword is getting
better we can tell them to use the new MacSword :)
